Fact and opinion are separated on purpose
Every post on this site has two parts, and they are laid out so you can tell them apart at a glance.
The evidence. Quotes, dates, votes, records, and sources, presented without adjectives. Every factual claim in this section traces to a cited primary source or to credible reporting, linked and archived.
The verdict. A single line, set apart and marked in gold on the card and on the page. That line is our opinion, offered as commentary on the documented facts above it. It is not a statement of fact and should not be read as one.
Where we describe conduct as absurd, self-defeating, wasteful, or clownish, that is our characterization of documented behavior, not an assertion of fact about any person.
What we do not claim
We do not assert motive without documentation. Where a post shows that a position changed, it is describing a sequence in the record. It is not claiming to know why.
We do not accuse anyone of a crime unless we are reporting a filing, a charge, or sworn testimony, in which case we say what the document says and link it.
Quoted material
We quote public statements, votes, hearings, filings, and reporting for the purpose of commentary, criticism, and news reporting. We attribute and link every source, and we quote only what is needed to show the contradiction. Rights in quoted material remain with the original holders.
Images

Official portraits and government photographs are used only where they are in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. §105 or an equivalent provision. We do not use wire-service photography.
We do not use AI-generated or digitally manipulated images of real people, in any post, under any label. Every image of a person on this site is an unaltered public-domain photograph.
